THE SHORT VERSION
USTOA is the United States Tour Operators Association, a voluntary professional trade association. Its Travelers Assistance Program applies to Active Members, not Associate Members. Each Active Member’s $1 million security is an aggregate amount, not a per-traveller entitlement. USTOA warns it may not cover every loss. Check the operator and membership type
Look up the exact operator or brand in the current Active Member directory and read the programme terms before describing protection. Check whether brands share the same security. This gives the team evidence for a precise explanation instead of relying on a logo alone.
Keep the booking checks separate
Review the supplier contract and the protection information for the particular booking as separate checks. Ask for clarification where the documents disagree. This helps the traveller understand the arrangements that apply to their purchase without assuming every association membership provides the same cover.
