About SEON

SEON makes fraud prevention and anti-money laundering software, and its milestones page says the company was founded in January 2017. It has offices in London, Budapest and Austin, among other cities, and the company named in its privacy notice, SEON Technologies Kft., is registered in Budapest, Hungary. In September 2025 SEON announced an $80 million Series C funding round led by Sixth Street Growth.

Its platform rates the fraud risk of payments and user accounts as they happen. SEON says it checks email addresses and phone numbers against more than 350 online platforms, alongside device fingerprinting, behavioural biometrics and AI risk scoring. Its payment screening runs before funds settle, using velocity checks, sanctions checks and a comparison of card country with IP country. It also offers account takeover detection, case management and identity verification, plus AML customer screening, payment screening and transaction monitoring.

SEON says it protects over 5,000 businesses worldwide. Its website lists industries including fintech, payments, lending, betting and gaming, marketplaces and retail.
