A branded fare is an airline fare sold under a named package of services and conditions. Compare the inclusions in the actual offer.

A branded fare groups an airline’s fare with a named set of services and conditions. Travelport’s documentation describes brands with specific services included. The names and inclusions vary between airlines and offers. Source: Travelport: branded fares

Compare the contents, not just the label

Imagine two airlines both selling a fare called “Light”. Treat that name as the beginning of the comparison. Check the actual baggage, seat selection and change conditions before advising which offer fits the traveller.

The example is deliberately fictional: matching names are not evidence of matching benefits. Keep the fare details returned for the specific itinerary, passengers and price.

Make the decision easier

List what the traveller needs and mark each requirement as included, available at an extra charge or unresolved. This gives them a clear basis for comparing the total offer.

If a fare needs an additional bag, obtain the applicable price rather than using an old example. Recheck the chosen offer before booking so the advice reflects the terms available at that point.

Avoid describing a fare as flexible without explaining the actual change conditions. A label alone does not answer the customer’s question.
