A hotel central reservation system, or CRS, manages reservations and availability across multiple distribution channels.

Oracle describes a hotel CRS as a system for managing reservations, group bookings and availability across channels such as direct bookings, online travel agents and global distribution systems. Agree where each record is managed

Ask the supplier to show where rates, availability and reservation details are maintained and how changes reach other systems. Record which system owns each part of the process. This gives the team a clear reference when two screens show different information.

Test the change as well as the sale

Follow a test reservation through its connected channels, then amend and cancel it. Check the acknowledgements and agree who handles an exception. This assesses the full reservation lifecycle instead of relying on a successful initial booking alone.
