THE SHORT VERSION
ECTAA represents travel agents and tour operators through national associations in Europe, including the UK. Its work covers European policy, consumer protection, visa matters, destination issues and relationships with IATA. It is an umbrella industry organisation, rather than a retail travel agency. Check the jurisdiction
Before acting on a European policy update, identify the countries and businesses it applies to. Read the linked official material and note its effective date. This keeps a useful industry briefing from becoming an assumption that the same requirement applies everywhere.
Use the national route
Check which national association represents your part of the industry and ask how it shares relevant ECTAA work. Take a specific operational question into that discussion. This helps you find the appropriate contact without assuming every umbrella body offers the same direct membership route.
