THE SHORT VERSION

Google Business Profile is a business listing managed on Google Search and Maps, available to businesses that meet Google’s eligibility rules.

Google Business Profile is a business listing managed on Google Search and Maps, available to businesses that meet Google’s eligibility rules.

Google Business Profile lets an eligible business manage how its business information appears on Google Search and Maps. Google generally requires in-person contact with customers during the stated hours. Online-only businesses are ineligible, so a travel website alone does not establish eligibility. Check the business before creating a profile

For a shop or homeworking business, establish where and how customers meet the team before choosing an address or service area. Use Google’s current guidance to assess that arrangement. This avoids setting up a listing around an assumption about what qualifies.

Give someone responsibility for updates

Assign an owner to check opening hours, contact details and appointment information after changes. Compare the profile with the website and record the review date. Consistent practical information gives customers a clearer route to the right place and person.
