THE SHORT VERSION
Search engine optimisation, or SEO, helps search engines understand a website and helps people find useful pages. Google’s guidance covers making content accessible, clear and relevant. Following its advice does not guarantee that a page will be indexed or achieve a particular ranking. Source: Google Search Central: SEO Starter Guide
Start with a useful question
For a travel-business content plan, choose a question the sales team regularly answers, such as what information is needed for a tailored holiday quote. Give it one clear page, explain the answer and link to the next useful step. This keeps the page focused on a reader’s task.
Give the review a purpose
Record the intended audience, the question answered and the action the page supports. Review those points alongside enquiries when deciding what to improve. Avoid judging a page solely by how many search phrases can be squeezed into it, because that would miss whether it helps the reader.
