THE SHORT VERSION

Keep independence specific
Write down which decisions matter most to you, such as branding, product choice and how enquiries are handled. Ask the team to explain how those decisions work under the proposed agreement. This gives the word independence a practical meaning for your business.
Compare the complete cost
Ask for a written explanation of fees, commission arrangements, card costs and any optional services. Run the figures against your own expected mix of bookings. Include cancellation and exit terms in the review so the decision covers the whole relationship, not just joining day.
