THE SHORT VERSION

Send-time optimisation uses engagement data to suggest when to send an email campaign.

Send-time optimisation uses engagement data to suggest when to send an email campaign.

Mailchimp’s send-time feature uses engagement patterns to identify a time when recipients are likely to open an email. It needs enough data to produce a recommendation. This is a prediction about timing, not evidence that a particular campaign will generate more enquiries or bookings. Source: Mailchimp: Use Send Time Optimization

Check the offer deadline first

Review the proposed send time against the offer’s expiry and the relevant time zone. For a short booking window, make sure the message leaves a useful opportunity to act. An automated recommendation should support the campaign’s purpose rather than determine whether its terms remain useful.

Compare similar campaigns

Test timing with comparable audiences and messages, then review clicks and enquiries as well as opens. Record other changes made during the test. This gives you a clearer basis for deciding whether the suggested timing is worth using again.
