What you will leave with

A focused Snapchat website campaign with suitable creative and spending controls.

Snapchat is a channel to test when your customers use it and your offer can be understood quickly on a phone. Do not assume every user wants the cheapest holiday or that the platform suits every travel business. Start with evidence from your customers and the audience tools available in your account.

A single image or video advert is a practical starting point. The job is simple: communicate one useful idea and make the next website step obvious. Elaborate interactive effects can wait until the basic journey has proved its value.

Before you start

Who this suits

Businesses with evidence of audience fit and clear, visual trips or experiences to explain.

Have these ready

  • A mobile page that loads and works reliably
  • Licensed vertical imagery or video
  • A way to record qualified enquiries and bookings

  1. 1
    Make the opening readable

A short headline and one question can be understood quickly on a phone.

  2. 2
    Show the decision visually

A labelled comparison supports the explanation without cramming the screen with copy.

  3. 3
Carry the idea onto the website

The guide and enquiry page should ask about the group’s priorities, dates and departure point.

Put it into practice

Your step-by-step guide

  1. Choose a simple, relevant proposition

Pick a trip or planning need that is easy to communicate visually. A first city break with friends, a short activity trip or help choosing a suitable beach base may work as a test if you genuinely sell it. Decide who the adult buyer is and what they need to know before enquiring. Avoid a mixed collection of destinations. The advert should make clear what the website offers beyond another attractive holiday photograph.

  2. Match the objective to the action

In Snapchat Ads Manager, inspect the current objectives and choose a website traffic or appropriate measured conversion route. Current options include Traffic, Leads and Sales, but the available goals and formats depend on the setup. If you use an in-platform lead form, report it separately from website visits. Select the intended destination or attachment and action button, then check the actual preview. A video view is not the same instruction as a completed enquiry.

  3. Create for the full-screen placement

Produce a vertical image or video with one clear message, readable captions and licensed material. Show the relevant trip immediately rather than opening with a long logo sequence. Keep essential text away from interface overlays and make the business recognisable. Check the current format specifications; single image/video ads support a website destination and are offered in placements including Stories and Spotlight. Prepare two useful creative angles, not dozens of superficial colour variations.

  4. Continue the promise on mobile

Build a page that repeats the offer and answers the first practical questions. For a city break, that might mean departure options, trip length, the type of hotel area and what planning help is available. Make the enquiry action obvious without obscuring the guide. Check the page inside the advert’s mobile browsing journey, including forms and any booking widget. A page that works in a desktop browser may still create friction in an in-app browser.

  5. Check audience and measurement

Set the geography you serve and an adult audience appropriate to the product, then inspect the available interests, placements and automated expansion settings. Do not infer a traveller’s circumstances from a broad interest label. If using Snap Pixel or server-side conversion reporting, verify the actual event and appropriate privacy controls. Advertising tracking requires the relevant consent; server-side delivery does not remove that responsibility. Avoid passing unnecessary personal or sensitive booking details in events or URLs.

  6. Set the budget, dates and caps

Check account currency, minimums and the current budget rules before confirming spend. Snapchat distinguishes ad-set budgets from campaign spending controls. A daily ad-set budget operates by calendar day, so a test crossing midnight can use more than one day’s allocation. Set appropriate campaign daily and lifetime caps where available, alongside start and end times. Record the total commercial allowance and review it frequently; do not assume an advertised dollar minimum is the right budget for a UK business.

  7. Review the whole journey

Before enabling delivery, test the link, enquiry, confirmation and team notification. After approval, inspect spend and page activity promptly. Compare creative ideas by useful visits and qualified enquiries, allowing time for bookings within the agreed test. If people interact with the video but fail to load the page, investigate the link and performance. If visitors are unsuitable, revisit the promise and audience. Pause for broken tracking, an expired offer or spend reaching the agreed limit.

See it in action

A first city break with friends

Illustrative creative for a business that sells and supports these trips.

The advert shows an adviser explaining why choosing a hotel area matters when friends have different priorities. It leads to a city-break planning page, then an enquiry asking about departure point, dates and party size. Two versions test an adviser introduction against a simple neighbourhood comparison. The business measures relevant requests rather than treating every video interaction as demand.

Avoid these common mistakes

  • Assuming all users fit the same stereotype: test your actual audience.
  • Sending video viewers to an unrelated homepage: continue the promise.
  • Confusing calendar-day budgets with a 24-hour test: check dates and caps.
  • Calling video engagement a lead: follow the visitor through the website.

Measure what matters

Loaded website visits

Check whether advert interactions become usable page visits.

Qualified enquiries per creative

Connect each message to requests your team can serve.

Total acquisition cost

Include creative work and media spend when assessing bookings.

Keep it manageable

Your next action

Choose one trip, one adult audience and one useful mobile page before producing the advert.
