A large language model (LLM) is an AI model trained on large amounts of data to process and generate language.

A large language model learns language patterns from large datasets and uses them to process or generate text. Tasks can include drafting, summarising and responding to questions. The model is one part of a wider application that may also provide tools and access to other information. Source: IBM: Large language models

Ask what the application can access

When reviewing a travel assistant, ask which approved documents or booking systems the application can consult. Request a demonstration using a question whose answer you know. This helps you assess the actual service instead of choosing only by the model’s name.

Test a change in the source material

Give the supplier an approved test document, change a detail and repeat the question after the agreed update process. Compare both answers with the correct document version. This shows whether the application’s information process meets your needs.
