An AI agent is a system that can plan and carry out tasks towards a goal, using the tools and access available to it.

An AI agent can work towards a goal by planning steps and using tools to carry out tasks. Its functions can extend beyond producing an answer to interacting with other systems and taking actions. The tools and access provided shape what a particular agent can do. Source: IBM: AI agents

Define the actions before the trial

For a travel-business test, list whether the agent may read an enquiry, draft a reply, update a record or send a message. Set a named approval point for actions you want a person to review. This makes the intended responsibility clear before the test begins.

Include a failed step

Ask the supplier to demonstrate a missing record or an unavailable tool. Check the record of attempted actions and how the task reaches a person. A useful evaluation shows the team how to recover when a step cannot be completed.
