THE SHORT VERSION

Quote validity describes the stated conditions and time limit for using a quotation. Check whether it includes a genuine price or availability hold.

Quote validity describes the stated conditions and time limit for using a quotation. Check whether it includes a genuine price or availability hold.

Use quote validity to explain how long a quote can be acted on and what still needs checking. A displayed expiry time should not be treated as evidence that supplier stock or price is reserved. A travel example

Imagine a quote email says “please reply by Friday”. That may be an agency follow-up deadline. Before describing the price as guaranteed until Friday, ask for the supplier’s actual hold terms and confirmation. This example distinguishes a sales deadline from a supported reservation promise.

What to put in the quote

We recommend recording the date and time checked, the exact travel dates and party, the currency and any genuine hold deadline. State what the customer should do next and whether an agent must recheck the offer. These details make the conditions easier to understand.

Quick Quote context

Travelgenix documents two booking routes: a quote with one holiday saved from Travelify can lead to Travelify checkout, while other quotes ask the agent to complete the booking. Choose validity wording that fits the route actually being used. Source: Travelgenix: Quick Quote and its booking routes
