THE SHORT VERSION

Continuous pricing lets an airline select a price from a continuous range, rather than only from a small set of predefined price points.

Continuous pricing lets an airline select a price from a continuous range, rather than only from a small set of predefined price points.

Continuous pricing is an airline pricing approach that selects a price from a continuous range of possible values. ATPCO distinguishes it from choosing among a small, predefined set of price points and from applying an adjustment to an existing price. Source: ATPCO: Continuous pricing explained

Keep price and conditions together

For a flight quote, save the returned price alongside the itinerary, included services and fare conditions. Record when it was checked. This gives staff a useful reference if they need to explain a later result to the traveller.

Check the final booking step

Ask the supplier how prices are confirmed and how the system presents a changed offer before payment. Test that the adviser or traveller can review the new amount and inclusions. This makes the confirmation process clearer without assuming continuous pricing always produces a lower fare.
