In this guide
Facebook and Instagram adverts can introduce your business to people who have not visited your website. This is an optional way to create interest in a clear service or holiday specialism. You do not need an existing website audience to start, but you do need a useful offer, a working enquiry route and time to respond.
Decide whether this is the right next test
Start with website readiness and measurement. Choose one service you can explain well, such as helping first-time cruise customers compare their options. Keep the test focused instead of splitting a modest budget across many holiday types and campaigns.
Choose your enquiry route
Both routes need a clear service and someone who checks suitability and responds.
Advert → useful page → enquiry
Check that the page matches the advert, the form works on mobile and one successful submission is measured once.
Advert → form → adviser
Explain the service, ask useful qualifying questions and send enquiries to a process someone actively checks.
Choose the action before the objective
In Meta Ads Manager, align the campaign objective, conversion location and performance goal with the result you want. For enquiries, investigate the Leads options available in your account. If you need completed online bookings, investigate Sales only after the booking event is supported and tested. A campaign optimised for visits is not the same test as one optimised for enquiries.
Choose one enquiry route:
Website enquiry. The advert leads to a relevant page, the form works on mobile, and a successful submission is measured once.
Meta instant form. The form explains your service, asks useful qualifying questions and sends enquiries to a process someone actively checks. A submitted form is not automatically a suitable lead.
Collect only what is useful at this stage: preferred travel period, departure point, holiday interest and an optional budget range may help. Link the privacy information and explain how you will respond. Do not treat an enquiry as permission for unrelated future email or WhatsApp marketing.
Build a simple first campaign
- Define who the service suits and the places your business can serve. Use evidence from real customers rather than an assumed age or income stereotype.
- Check audience controls and suggestions in the current setup. Meta's automated options can broaden delivery; understand the controls you actually have. A new-customer campaign name does not guarantee every viewer is new. Record whether enquiries come from new or existing customers.
- Prepare two distinct creative ideas around the same service. For example, an adviser explaining a common cruise choice, and a clear image with three questions to answer before booking. A small test will not necessarily establish a statistically reliable winner.
- Make the next step specific. Preview the crops, captions, text and buttons for the placements selected. Check image rights, offer conditions and any financial-protection claims.
- Set an affordable test allowance, dates and a named reviewer. Understand the budget type and spending rules displayed before publishing. Do not leave the campaign running indefinitely because clicks look inexpensive.
Example advert to adapt
Planning your first cruise? We help you compare cabin choices, departure options and what is included. Tell us your preferred month and departure point, and our team can help you consider suitable options. Explore our first-cruise service: [relevant page].
Use this only if it describes what your team and landing page actually provide.
Review lead quality before increasing spend
Check delivery, spend and broken journeys promptly. Track submitted forms, valid enquiries, quotes and bookings separately, allowing time for travel decisions. If £120 produces ten forms but only four valid enquiries, the cost per valid enquiry is £30, not £12. These are illustrative figures. Compare the result with your own acquisition allowance and follow-up capacity.
Count suitable enquiries
Illustrative example only; these figures are not a performance benchmark.
£120
Total advertising spend for this example campaign.
10 forms: £120 ÷ 10 = £12 each
This is the cost per submitted form, before checking suitability.
4 enquiries: £120 ÷ 4 = £30 each
This is the cost per valid enquiry after checking the ten forms.
Complete this guide when
- One service, audience and enquiry route are defined.
- Consent handling, required events and lead delivery have been checked.
- The creative matches the service and previews correctly.
- A named person owns responses, spending and the review date.
Travelgenix support request
Please confirm how we can measure a completed enquiry on [page], including [embedded tool if relevant], while respecting advertising consent. Which parts of this journey need configuration outside the website? For Meta instant forms, separately confirm who owns lead retrieval and follow-up in our business.
